This week was pretty fun, so I'll give you the whole scoop in my weekly mission summary.
Tuesday - Today was pretty chill. We saw a less active lady in the ward. She was nice. We also had a dinner appointment with the Goughs. They're so much fun. We shared a message about missionary work. Then we went and saw another less active family. They're Italian. They invited us over for dinner next Tuesday, so that was nice. Hopefully I'll get to jump on their trampoline when we go. :)
Wednesday - Today was fun. We had district meeting in the morning. It was pretty rushed, but that's only because we had an appointment to get to at 12:00 back in our own area. So we had a quick training, set goals, and took a district picture. Then we went back to our own area and had a lunch appointment at a place called Toby's Carvery with a member. It was awesome. I ate way too much food. After we had lunch with the member, we went to his home and gave him and his wife the sacrament. They're both very old and kind of sickly, so the bishop authorized us to give it to them in the middle of the week. Then we helped them out with a few things in their home, and went on to do some work in town. After a few hours of that, we had a dinner appointment at a member's home. He was the former Bishop, in the stake presidency, and now he's the ward clerk. He's great. Their family is really fun, and really good at missionary work is well. After our dinner with them, we went home teaching with the bishop. We taught a family called the Hill's. Sister Hills is the Sunday school teacher. She's really funny and always super excited about everything. It's pretty funny. After that we went home and went to bed.
Thursday - So, today Elder Radford needed to take his driving theory test. So we spent the entire morning at the chapel online practicing so he would not fail. Then we went to Colechester so he could take his test. While he took his test, I did some window shopping around the mall. It was pretty fun, but also kind of weird to not have a companion for an hour, since I was not allowed to be in the building while he took his test. He passed his test, thank goodness. Then we went back to our area do you have an appointment with an investigator named Philip. He's really good. He loves the church and would come along if he didn't have to work on Sunday mornings during church time. Then we went to a dinner appointment with our investigator named Bobby. She's great but she also has a lot of weird questions about the church. But I think she'll join one day. Then we went home and went to bed.
Friday - Today was pretty fun. We did some normal missionary work, some finding and some stop bys. We did have a dinner appointment with the English frys family. They are great member missionaries. For our message we shared president monson's address about charity, kindness and love. While we were in the middle of our lesson, they heard the ice cream truck outside and ran out and bought us some ice cream. It was pretty funny seeing a couple in their 40s buying ice cream from an ice cream truck. After that we went home and did our regular evening routine.
Saturday - Today we had a flat inspection from the senior couple in Cambridge. So before they came, like a good missionary would, we cleaned the flat up a little bit. After cleaning, we went to a member's home to pick up some lunch. The family is from Argentina, so the food was delicious. We brought it home, ate it and waited for the senior couple to come. When they came, they found the flat in immaculate condition, gave us good grades, and headed off. It was a lot of fun. Then we went to Witham to contact a couple of referrals. We met a lady named Wendy. She's super nice and we're going to see her next week. While we were talking to her her neighbor came up and start talking with us as well. She was really nice as well. Then we went back to Braintree to have a lesson with Philip. After our lesson with him we helped him fix a mirror cabinet in his bathroom, and headed to our lesson with a less active, part member family. They are super hilarious. We basically just hung out with them, looked at their sword collection, and had an awesome lesson about the restoration. After their lesson I went onto the trampoline and showed them some of my tricks. It was great fun. Then we went home and ate dinner.
Sunday - Well, today was a lot of fun. We had our PEC meeting in the morning. We talked a lot about less actives in the ward, and how we can help them to return to activity. After that we had our regular church. When we passed around our dinner calendar in the third hour of church, we filled out the entire week for dinners. I guess that's one of the upsides of transfers coming up. Then after church we had choir practice for a musical item that we are going to be performing at stake conference. That was a lot of fun. Then we went and had lunch with the pan family. They are awesome. They made us a massive lunch. After lunch they told us that they were going to make a cake for their son's birthday. So we had to wait for all of that as well. While we were waiting, four other families from the ward showed up. We were just waiting for them to decorate a cake, and next thing we know, we're at a birthday party for their son. That took a very long time, but it was a lot of fun. Then we stopped by some less active families then we went to the chapel and did a bit of computer work before going home for dinner.
Well, that was my week! I love you all!
Love,
Elder Warburton
