June 14 Email

Dear Wonderful People,

This week was pretty fun. We got to see Elder Oaks again on Tuesday when he spoke to the mission. He told us that we need to preach of the reality of God. Even if that doesn't lead to baptism, we'll be preserving our religious freedom, because the absence of a belief in God leads to the false belief that you aren't accountable to anyone.
So remember, God is there and he wants you to choose the right!

Other than that, we have somebody we're teaching named Adam who accepted a baptismal date of July 9th. We're really excited for him and I would ask you all to keep him in your prayers.

Well, other than that, transfer calls were yesterday and elder wen and I will be staying together here in Ramsey.

I love you all!

Love,

Elder Warburton

I asked him what he learned from all of the speakers:

Hmm... The best advice I got from Elder Oaks was that, even if we don't baptize anyone on our mission, teaching people to believe in God is the most important thing to do. Because, if we teach people to believe in God, then they will feel accountable for their actions. He said that most of the world's major problems are because of world leaders that don't believe in God. Since they don't believe in Him, they don't feel accountable. They do things without any thought that God will judge them for it. So the least we can do is convince people that God is there and he knows what we are doing and that we will be accountable for our actions.

For everyone else, I'll give you my notes that I took.

President Kearon:

We are meant to be stretched
Rejoice and thrive on opposition
Bring it on, Satan. Punch adversity with the spirit, smash it in half
The process changes our spirituality
I will do
Choose to be changed, you will then view things at a different perspective
Be careful about how we carry the message
Personalise the message of the Restoration
How are we the messenger?
Courage, fear not, an unseen power will aid me
Be the kind of investigator that God wants you to be

Sister Kearon:

It is a privilege to serve a mission
Everyday is a gift to serve the Lord
Nothing else is greater than serving the Lord
I'll try/I will
Be bold lovingly with God and with myself
I will go, I will do, the things the Lord commands
We are righteousness from Heaven, truth sent out from the earth, charged with a divine commission to gather the elect of the Lord
Wake up with excitement

Sister Oaks:

The character of God is unchanging
Sharing the truth is an act of love
We are the Davids against the Goliaths of the world
They will get it of they feel our spirit
Every act we do is important
Don't go through your mission, let your mission go through you
I live for Christ
