Dear Wonderful People!

This week has been alright. We had lots of dinner appointments, so that's always good.  We found a family of 5 to teach on Sunday.

Other than that, we've been doing lots of missionary work, as always.  We went on an exchange to Bedford on Saturday. We ate ice cream after going to a bunch of appointments. There's this place called the embankment, which is really lovely to walk on, and also it's a great place to find people to teach and the elders in Bedford live just down the road from it. I'm jealous.

Also, I get to go see Elder Oaks this Sunday and next week Tuesday.  Isn't that exciting?

Well, that's about all.

I love you all!

Love,

Elder Warburton

Elder Warburton is a Smart Aleck

I asked Elder Warburton why he didn't send more pictures and he told me that he only takes pictures of interesting things.  The kid is in England for heaven's sake...you'd think he would be sending me millions of pictures.  I told him as much and that any picture he takes would be interesting to me because it's ENGLAND!!  So...being the smart aleck that he is, he sent me these pictures and a video:

Dear Wonderful People!

This week has been great.

We found lots of new people to teach.  Sadly, Ben dropped us this week so we aren't teaching him anymore.  But we had a miracle investigator on Sunday.  He texted us on Sunday morning asking when church started. We told him that it starts at 2:00 and asked if he wanted a ride. He said "yes, please". So he came to church and we taught him a lesson and put him on date to be baptized on the 19th of June. Exciting, huh?

We taught the girl who had the snake in that email I sent a few weeks ago.

So here's a snake headband.

It decided it would rather be a snake blindfold.

Then a snake beard.

By the way, the girl who owns this snack is the only member in her family but we have started to teach her mother this week as well.

7.  Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. (Malachi 3)

This promise stands forever.  Remember that.

Well, that's about it.  I hope you all have a great week.

Love,

Elder Warburton

Dear Wonderful People,

This week has been great!

It was the first week of the new transfer.  My companion is Elder Wen. He's from Hong Kong.  He's super funny and does missionary work the way I like best.  Not too fast, but not too slow either.  He speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, and English.

Not much happened this week.  We found someone to teach.  His name is Ben and he's great and wants to learn more about the gospel.

Other than that, I'm just excited to continue working here.

I love you all!

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  (Philippians 4:13)

May 10 Email

Dear Wonderful People,

This week was great. I got to talk with my family on Sunday for Mother's Day. It was great to get to see them again.

Well, not too much other interesting stuff happened. We went bowling last week on Monday with a member of the Huntingdon Ward. And on Saturday we had our zone training meeting. That was nice.

So this week is transfers and I'm staying here. My companion is moving to Cambridge, which is just down the road. In fact, the nearest private health place that I can go to is in Cambridge. So I'll be going there a lot.

Well, that's all.

For my spiritual thought, I'll share this scripture from Luke.

37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. (Luke 1)

I love you all!

Love,

Elder Warburton

More news in his letter to us:

I did have fun on Mother's Day. I called you guys, then I was just in time for sacrament meeting. It was Ward conference, so the stake presidency was there. President Hurst, the stake president, gives the funniest talks. He was talking about how he goes to the gym with his sons because he can then say that he goes to the gym, and this past week while he was at the gym, his son crushed his finger under some weights. And he was continually mentioning how manly he was throughout this and how he shed some manly tears when he saw his son's finger. It was really funny. Sacrament meeting went 20 minutes over because of his talk. It was alright though, because his talks are amazing.

English Mother's Day is in March. So they celebrate it way earlier.

It was nice to see you all. It was especially nice to see Carson. He's so funny.

Dear Wonderful People,

The weather here has been nice.  It's been raining then sunny, then raining, then cold, then hailing, then sunny, then cloudy again.  You know, the usual.  But we have a car, so that's nice.

On Monday we went to the Hill's and the Jone's house for dinner. They are missionaries that work on the church farm. We went with the Sisters and talked about mission life and missionary work and such.  Just think eight missionaries all together having dinner. It was super fun.

Not too much happened on Tuesday we did get a new investigator with the Sisters. Her name is Sital. She is Indian and talks a lot but she'll be baptized one day.

On Wednesday we saw the Flatley's. There are four people in the family...Sister Flatley and her three daughters. The oldest daughter, Georgia, is nine years old. She wants to get baptized. After that we went to go see a less active named Tracy. She's awesome. She lives in a place called March. It takes 45 minutes to get there by car. Her husband is named Paul. He's not a member but we will baptize him also, one day.  We ate toads in the hole. It's sausages in Yorkshire pudding. It was really nice.

On Thursday, Elder Coon took his driving test. He passed! We also had another exchange with the Bedford Elders. We saw a less active member named Maxine. She let me wear her snake.

Then all four of us went to dinner with the Wrights. They are awesome. Brother Wright went with Elder Coon and Elder Hinatsu to see this family, the Rimmers. The mom is less active and none of the four children are baptized. Hopefully, they will be baptized soon. Everyone just needs to be baptized. It's a commandment, by the way!

Other than that, not much else happened this week. We're still working hard here.

For my spiritual thought, I'll share a quote from President Monson's talk.

This is one of my favorite quotes from conference.  This just shows that powerful messages can come from short talks.

I love you all!!

Love,

Elder Warburton
